High and Middle Falls

Grand Portage SP

We often celebrate our anniversary on the North Shore, based out of Grand Marais. We nearly always drive up to Grand Portage State Park and hike out to see the High Falls. Depending on the depth of snow we hike out to the “peak” on the Middle Falls trail and, if there is not too much snow, we will complete the hike out to Middle Falls. The views of the falls and Lake Superior are spectacular, and the trail has a little relief to it. We also enjoy the cultural display honoring the Grand Portage Ojibwe in the visitor center.
